Opinion

So, this is my last entry for the whole blog. :P

What I think about LHP459
- It was fun while it lasted, Dr Jafre always had some nostalgic story that has something to do with him to tell to us. From his schooling years right to the lanca pullers. XD
- It can actually improve a person's self esteem to speak out more in front of everybody, voice out their opinions and whatnots in English.
- I was quite happy when Dr Jafre asked us to do a blog, simply because I'm a blogger myself (for 4 years haha BRAG BRAG BOAST BOAST. XP). I think an English blog can help us to learn the language more (provided it was written in proper English and NOT Manglish or Singlish or any other broken English), and it also can help us to improve in our writing.
- Eventhough this class is called "English for Interpretation", we did nothing on interpreting stuff. Haha. But as Dr Jafre said, interpretation has a wide meaning. I can't actually argue on that.
- I think everybody, and not just mostly BATI students should take this paper because one, it is a fully 100% coursework paper (no final exam yippie!!) and two, it's fun!

Ok I'm done. Can I get my A now Dr Jafre??? HOHOHO.

Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir Batin from me. =)

Trishaw Pullers

For the laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast project of LHP459, we were asked to do a group presentation on any topic that we chose. My group chose "Trishaw Pullers". We went around Tanjung to interview some of the trishaw pullers and to snap some pictures. As usual, I'm the photographer. Haha.

I did take some videos, but at that time my camera has decided to be a rebel and started to make the video blur like it was out of focus when I was recording.

Two weeks after we went to do our project, turns out that I didn't change my camera resolution from 6MP to VGA, that's why it blurred when I took videos. Cheh buang karan ja.

Joyce did all the power point slides while other members contributed on what to put and what to talk. I gave the song "Abang Beca" by the late Broery Marantika to her because it was PERFECT for this presentation.

So, on Wednesday, we presented our topic. It was going quite smooth. I'm a bit dissapointed because we didn't have any video (every other group that presented has a video attached with their presentation huhuhuhu) but oh well, the damage is done. I felt very happy because one burden has gone!! HAHAHA.

Bloggers responsible for their own writing???

Definitely. You should be responsible for everything that you do. Yes, a blog is a place where one is free to talk about anything and everything, but I think there should be a limit. Just look at J/eff Ooi's case for example. This is what happened when you've gone too far...

...or maybe they can't handle the truth? Truth hurts, as the saying goes. You just need to swallow it.

I still think bloggers should be responsible for their own writing.

Yeah, I have no more ideas to talk about. Sue me. NOT literally.

Syariah Law as Malaysia's Law?

Can it really be implemented? Let's see the definition of syariah law. Syariah is the dynamic body of Islamic religious law. The term means "way". It is the legal framework within which the public and some private aspects of life are regulated for these living in a legal system based on Muslim principles of jurisprudence.

It deals with many aspects of day-to-day life, including politics, economics, banking, business, contracts, family, sexuality, hygiene and social issues. It's divided into 2 sections:
a) The acts of worship
b) Human interaction

However, most people - when mentioned about Syariah Law - only think about marriage and hudud, and they fear hudud the worst.

In my opinion, we still need the common law. Maybe we can implement Syariah law in banking, economics, business and others related, but not in every aspect of life. Not yet, at least.
